How to Make Toddler Bedtime a Breeze

August 18, 2025 by TheChristianMamaMemoirs Leave a Comment

I am not by any means a sleep training expert. However, my toddler does fall asleep and record time. So I’d call that a win! I think it’s important to mention that my toddler also does love cuddles and back rubs so this isn’t to take place of that. Just make the process a little bit quicker or easier, whichever word you prefer.

Get The Perfect Nightlight

Plug In Nightlight

With my toddler, I actually use two different night lights. One that plugs into the wall and one that is motion censored on his wall. We use both on a regular basis.

The one the plugs into the wall does have a light sensor. So if your toddler will not pull it out of the wall you can keep it plugged in 24/7. I love this nightlight for its interesting fish design and the colorful lights. Wherever this nightlight is plugged in, it will show a small beautiful light display.

Butterfly Light

The motion sensored option is perfect for us because we have stairs at the end of the the hall. The light will turn on, only when it detects motion and lights up the hall. You can choose to have it on auto, on, or off. Additionally, it is rechargeable an has multiple light settings.

Bluey Nightlight

In addition to these two options, we also have a bluey stuffed animal. It is battery operated and with the push of a button it will display beautiful stars all over the ceiling. This is not something we use every night. However, he does enjoy it when we remember it.

Have you Tried Aromatherapy?

Roll On Aromatherapy

I know that aromatherapy is not for everyone. However, I have always loved the natural scents filling the room. If you do not go the diffuser route or you hate the idea of something plugged in your child’s wall all night long (I get it). I would suggest the roll on ball option, the spray, or the patch. I like all three options for different reasons.

Sleep Linen Spray

Personally, I love the roll on option. Even for myself and especially for mosquito protection. The spray is a quick way to fill a room. However, for me, I love to spray a lavender on the bedsheets and pillows. You could also add a drop or two of lavender to the wash water for blankets and sheets.

Sleep Stickers

The patches are a newer method. Newer to me anyway. However, I have heard great things about them. I used them one time and my two year old was still running around 45 minutes later. So, I would not say that it is a miracle worker.

Amazon Kid’s Alexa

Alexa for Kids

I used to think that having a kid’s version of things was just a gimmick that companies used to sell more devices. However, after having children I realized that the children’s version of these devices do not contain ads. Oh boy, is the lack of advertisements during sleepy time a game changer. I also do appreciate the censorship of adult material. Plus, they have cute little designs as well.

I highly suggest hiding the device behind or under furniture with a wall mount. This will keep your little one from unplugging it. Plus, loose cords are am unnecessary hazard.

With an Amazon Alexa for kids, simply say Alexa play sleep. With that the perfect sleep playlist will begin.
